Description:
The Small Animal Imaging Facility (SAIF) for Cancer Research Voucher Program is an internal funding mechanism designed to: (1) enable facility access to faculty whose project is not yet externally funded, (2) support extension of data for current projects, (3) raise awareness of the various SAIF resources available to researchers on campus, and (4) encourage use of SAIF resources and stimulate interdisciplinary research collaborations. The SAIF voucher program is supported in part by a core facility award from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT, RP180670). Successful recipients of the voucher will include faculty members from different UT Dallas departments, programs, or schools. This program is well-suited to support the endeavors of those faculty with STEM backgrounds and project interests, although there is no limitation for faculty affiliations. In particular, the SAIF voucher program is suitable for PIs who wish to generate preliminary cancer-related imaging data prior to expiration dates of the voucher and participate in (oral presentation and/or student poster) during “Core Facilities Day”, which provides faculty, staff, and students an opportunity to share ideas, collaborate, and present their research. Vouchers will be issued and can only be used to support services and fees from the SAIF and for preapproved cancer-related imaging studies.
